Appearance inspection: During the production process of hot stamping foil, its appearance should be inspected, including whether the color is uniform, whether there are defects such as scratches, wrinkles, spots, etc. For metal hot stamping foil, it is also necessary to check whether the metal luster is good and whether there is oxidation discoloration.

Performance testing: Testing the adhesion, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and other properties of hot stamping foil. The adhesion test can be conducted by conducting a tape peeling test after hot stamping to check whether the hot stamping pattern is easily peeled off; Wear resistance testing can use a friction testing machine to simulate the friction situation during actual use and check the wear resistance of the hot stamping pattern; The corrosion resistance test can place the hot pressed sample in a specific chemical environment (such as an acidic or alkaline solution) to observe the changes in the pattern.

Dimensional accuracy control: The width, length, thickness, and other dimensional parameters of the hot stamping foil must comply with the specified standards. Inaccurate dimensional accuracy may lead to waste and deformation of hot stamping patterns during the process.

Common problems and solutions

Poor hot stamping: It may be caused by low temperature, insufficient pressure, poor quality of adhesive layer, and other reasons. The solution is to increase the hot stamping temperature and pressure appropriately, check the quality of the hot stamping foil, and replace it with a hot stamping foil with good adhesive layer performance.

Blurred hot stamping pattern: mainly due to uneven pressure, uneven hot stamping plate, and long hot stamping time. It is possible to adjust the pressure to distribute it evenly, inspect and repair the hot stamping plate, and shorten the hot stamping time to solve the problem.

Discoloration or fading of hot stamping patterns: This may be caused by poor quality of the color layer of the hot stamping foil, chemical erosion, or light aging. To choose reliable quality hot stamping foil, avoid contact with strong acidic and alkaline chemicals after hot stamping. For products exposed to sunlight for a long time, consider using hot stamping foil with anti UV function.
